Lightwater Tarns Country Park is a small family run holiday park on the edge of the Lake District.

We, Terry, Anne & our son Andrew would like to welcome you to our friendly small exclusive development where you can own a luxury lodge/caravan in an all day sunny park with a beautiful peaceful lake setting, with no camping or touring, so that you are always amongst the same friends and neighbours.

Lightwater Tarns Country Park is surrounded by miles of Cumbria’s unspoilt countryside and within easy reach of the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Pennine Way, Grange-over-Sands, Scotland and M6 motorway.

Our park is situated on our traditional working livestock farm and is located beside two specially created private fishing lakes with the breath-taking backdrop of the Whinfell and Howgill Fells. The delightful Lightwater stream, which supports the rare white-clawed crayfish, meanders all around the farm's south-western boundary. There is an abundance of wildlife including Pheasant, Woodpecker, Squirrel, Rabbit, Deer, Canadian Geese to Oystercatcher, Swans and Mallard ducks nesting on the islands in the created lakes.

We are the proud owners of the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award. This scheme is awarded to holiday parks which can prove their commitment to showing active concern for the environment. We are also delighted that a Roe deer has been born in the wildlife area of our Park this spring. She can be seen regularly grazing in the wild life areas that we have created surrounding our Park.

Lake Windermere is approximately 15 minutes drive from the holiday park with our closest town being Kendal. Kendal is only 4 miles from the Park, offering all amenities including supermarkets, restaurants, leisure centre with swimming pool, golf, museums, K-village outlet, designer clothes, shops etc. Horse riding is also available nearby.
