Set in the heart of beautiful Ennerdale, England's remotest, quietest and least inhabited valley, Low Gillerthwaite rests at the feet of Pillar, Steeple and Red Pike. Access is by a forestry track which flanks Ennerdale Water.

This Field Centre is in Ennerdale, Cumbria.
It is run by members of the Association which was established by students and staff of City of Leeds College of Education to commemerate its Diamond Jubilee.
The centre is adapted from traditional Lakeland 17th century farm buildings and offers self-catering accommodation for up to 40 people. The accommodation offers full flexibilty for your visit. There are two rooms with 4 bunks each and one each of 8, 10 and 14 bunks. If you book for 26 poeple you are entitled to exclusive use of the centre. It is therefore an ideal base for walking, climbing, canoeing, orienteering, field studies and exploring Lakeland's remotest mountains, valleys and fells - and we're open all year, except Christmas.
