The Mandy Mason School of Dance has been open for 40+ years. Pupils from the age of three years attend lessons in Ballet, Tap and Freestyle Modern.

The Mandy Mason School of Dance opened 41 years ago, in September 1973 at Black Notley Village Hall and the Braintree School opened in September 1978. I am very proud that many pupils continue dancing with me until they leave school, go to College/University, start work or pursue a career in Dance. During the last few years I have had many pupils join the school whose mums were pupils of mine back in the early days! Dancing is an activity that should always be enjoyed. It promotes health and fitness, develops confidence, poise and instils a general sense of well-being.
Above all, we believe that our pupils should enjoy their time with us, enjoying dance and music in a safe and happy environment.

Pupils can join the school from the age of three years for the beginner’s class which includes basic ballet/ exercises, moving to different styles of music, mime and singing. At around the age of five pupils are taught more technical work in Ballet, Freestyle Modern and Tap, the syllabus for which is set by The International Dance Teachers Association. Rosette Awards are taken first and then pupils move on to grade, medal and team examinations. We are also registered with The Children’s University Learning Destination and can sign your child’s Passport To Learning book. We produce a Show every two years which all pupils may take part in, giving them a chance to gain valuable stage experience. We have just finished our recent production called ‘And The Winner Is…’ The show was a huge success and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
