Yorkshire Ambulance Service are looking for Volunteers in Masham. We are holding an open evening on 14th October, 6pm till 9pm at Masham Town Hall.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service are looking for Volunteers in Masham and in the surrounding area to become Community First Responders. CFR's are volunteers who are trained by Yorkshire Ambulance service to attend 999 calls and provide vital treatment before an Ambulance crew arrives, although a lot of the time CFR's are called out it will be just to reassure someone and collect data for the Ambulance crews for when they arrive. CFR's are given uniform and carry a variety of kit from a Defibrillator to Oxygen, all provided by the Ambulance Service. CFR's do not attend any kind of trauma cases so if anyone doesn't like the sight of blood don't worry it is very rare a CFR will come across it. For the Masham Scheme to open we need at least 5 volunteers otherwise the Ambulance service will class it as not viable , so if you are interested please come along and see us at Masham Town Hall on 14th October between 6pm and 9pm for a chat and to find out more. The only restrictions are you must have a car, be 18 years of age and have no more than 3 points on your licence and we ask a CFR can gove a minimum of 4 hours per week but this is not esstential as long as the scheme covers at least 100 per month. If you would like any more information please send us a private message or visit www.communityresponders.yas.nhs.uk
