Medstead Pre-school & Nursery has been operating since September 1989 when we started in Medstead Village Hall as Medstead Playgroup. Five years later with a lot of local support we battled against all odds and succeeded in obtaining all the permissions, raised sufficient funds and built our own building in the grounds of Medstead School. In 2003 we added to our space by raising the roof, and putting in the first floor.

The staff are a well established, well trained team who work hard to ensure that the children achieve their maximum potential.

We are registered for 38 children at each session split between upstairs and downstairs. We provide excellent staff/children ratios with the minimum of one adult to four children up to 3 years of age and one adult to six children for the 3 & 4 year olds.

We have qualified Special Needs expertise and also British Sign Language staff who are able to provide total communication support to profoundly deaf pre-school children to ensure that these children also have an equal opportunity to develop in all areas for children’s learning.
