Offical page of Musselburgh Youngstars football club.
Musselburgh Youngstars was established by a group of parents in October 2003 with around 12 boys. It now has more than 200 players and 32 coaches in eight different age groups.
The Club has over 200 children ranging from 5 to 17 with plans to continue expanding to Under 21 age level as per the current Scottish Youth Football Association player pathway. We provide players to the SYFA 20/20 centres in east Lothian and particpate in both the East Lothian league and the South East Of Scotland 7 a-side and 11 a-side leagues.
If you are interested in enrolling a child born between 1998 and 2010, drop us a message and we will put you in contact with the head coach of the age group required.
Most groups are capped at around 20 to allow personal attention to all players - and to encourage them all to get equally involved in training and games.
The club's coaches have all gained qualifications approved by the Scottish Football Association. Training sessions are always led by qualified coaches and we aim for a high adult:child ratio. We operate under SFA coaching guidelines, with the emphasis on learning to play football in a fun, but structured way. All direct contact details for the club's individual Head Coaches for each team contacts can be found on the SERFYA website or the East Lothian 7's development league.
Youngstars is committed to ensuring all coaches and officials go through appropriate Disclosure Scotland checks - and that we have enough members in each group with First Aid qualifications.
The club organises regular fundraising/social events and outings for parents and children, as well as an annual tournament that takes place on the 3rd weekend in August each year for all our 7 aside and 4 aside teams. Our tournament keeps growing each year and was attended by more than 400 children and over 1000 people in last year.
Musselburgh Youngstars is a club which abides by the principles of fair play and treats football as fun, but which always strives to do its best.
Training sessions in all groups operate under SFA guidelines and include a warm-up, individual and group skills, a game and a warm-down. The emphasis is on learning football skills in a fun, but structured way.
Youngstars are happy to accept both boys AND girls. Any parents interested in enrolling their kids should follow the "Joining" link" for more details We are always keen for more parents to help out - if you want to get involved, send this page a message or speak to your child's age group coach after training.
