Nairn Economic Initiative

A new initiative relating to Nairn and the surrounding area, its aim is to raise the profile of Nairn as a place to live, visit, and operate a business.

This new initiative relates to Nairn and surrounding areas (Highland Council’s Ward 19), and its main aims are to grow Nairn’s business base and increase the number of Nairn residents employed locally; and to raise the profile of Nairn as a place to live, visit, and operate a business.

The NEI will progress its projects through collaborations between the private sector, public sector, and organisations with a social purpose, but its distinctive contribution will be through local people with business experience working in small teams to progress short term and longer term projects. In some cases this might involve setting up social enterprises that might not just service the local community but also wider markets – creating “head office” employment in Nairn.
