National Animal Welfare Trust rescue centre in Clacton, Essex, rehoming around 300 cats and dogs a year. Opening hours: Cats:10am-12pm Dogs: 11am-3pm
The National Animal Welfare Trust's Clacton site was originally set up by Ann and Reg Sims in 1984. It was entrusted to NAWT in October 2011 following the Sims' retirement after 25 dedicated years of service.
We rehome around 300 cats and dogs at our Clacton centre every year. Every animal has been individually assessed and cared for by our experienced and dedicated staff. All animals are vet-checked, neutered, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped before being rehomed.
NAWT have a local charity shop in Clacton and can accept donations for the shop direct at the centre. In addition to charity shop merchandise we always welcome any type of dog/cat bedding as well as toys and treats.
