Newbery Lodge Pre-School in Tilehurst Reading was established in 1974 and has continued to serve the local community for over 40 years.

Situated in our own building in the grounds of Arthur Newbery Park in Tilehurst we really do offer a homely environment for your children to learn and explore whilst feeling safe and secure. Our long term dedicated staff are always on hand to talk to you about your child's progress.
Our committee is formed of parents whose children attend the pre-school and who have a passion for supporting and developing the growth of the Pre-school.

We accept children into our Pre-School from their 2nd Birthday until they leave to go to School.
Pre-School Sessions available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 09:15 - 14:15, Tuesday 09:15-12:!5 term time. Cost from £4 per hour, 15 hours free childcare available from the term following your child's 3rd birthday.

Lunch Club 12:15 - 1pm (Charged extra)

Lisa Langton – MANAGER

Lisa has three children of her own. She is very passionate about maintaining high standards in child care. Lisa works Full time at Newbery Lodge preschool. Lisa joined the preschool in May 2016 and is looking forward to the years ahead.

Vanessa Culverhouse – Deputy Manager

Vanessa has two children of her own. She works full time at the preschool and really enjoys child care. Vanessa loves Art and craft activities and making the day fun! After taking a brief time out in February Vanessa re-joined the preschool in June 2016.

Laura McKenzie – Preschool Assistant

Laura is thrilled to have returned to work after caring for her own two children. Her passion is watching children grow and develop over time and helping them to build on fundamental skills and feeling as though she has been a part of the skills they have gained. Laura is full of fresh ideas is looking forward to all of the fun ahead. Laura works part time WED, THURS, and FRI mornings, however may cover extra sessions.

Emma Capel – Committee Member
Emma is a member of the committee. She usually helps out at the preschool on MON and TUES mornings, however does help with cover from time to time. Emma has two children of her own who once attended Newbery Lodge preschool, and will always strive to help the preschool maintain high standards of childcare. Emma has an art Degree and loves to share her creative skills with the children.

Sarah Clarke – Bank / Cover Staff

Sarah has two children of her own. Sarah has previously managed a large setting, and is currently also working part time hours at Westwood farm preschool as an assistant. Sarah really enjoys introducing mathematics to children in fun and exciting ways and is always offering ideas and support to Newbery Lodge. Sarah has also previously volunteered help at the Lodge on ‘Clean up’ days. Sarah will be used to cover staff training days etc. on Mondays and Tuesdays and possibly other hours when needed.
