New Quay Yacht Club was founded in 1951. The primary purpose of the club is to promote sailing and racing in both dinghies and cruisers. The Club also aims to promote and encourage the safe use of the water by all crafts, including powerboats etc.
Dinghy Racing is organised throughtout the year.
Frostbite Series Jan - March alternate Sundays
Autumn Series Oct - Nov Alternate Saturdays
Summer Racing on Bank Holiday weekends
South Staff Visit every June - for a weekend
1 -2 other events orgnaised - eg welsh Laser Chmapionship. GP Masters, Squib Nationals
Cruiser Racing
Racing orgnaised on many wekends between April and Septemebr in close association with Aberaeron Yacht Club. Racing are around bouys in Cardigan Bay or pursuit races to towns on the coast from Fishguard to Pwelli. IRC Handicaps required if you want to win przes, but you can join the race for fun / experience if you don't hold one. Mulithulls are not permitted to race.
The harbour dries out at low tide so only suitable for twin keelers or lifting keel boats.

NQYC has 3 picos, 1 Laser 2000 which members can hire, booking via the steward. A fleet of 6 Optimisits are used for sail training.
