Slate roofing that doesn’t cost the earth

Set up and developed in Blaenau Ffestiniog and with many hours spent on the regeneration project here, we're proud to say we keep 8 people in full time employment in a difficult economic environment. We are working with Llechwedd to split and dress our own slates from reclaimed slate blocks from the tips, slate that was deemed not good enough when perfect slate was plentiful. We aim to produce eco-friendly random diminishing roofs from recycled slate at a price close to normal re-slating costs. We have two members of staff on a NVQ level 3 course in traditional roofing techniques and are bringing back old forgotten roofing methods back into the industry. It takes 3 years to get a new Original Roofing employee up to standard, an effort the CITB has recognised by suppling us with a Specialist Site Training program. Above all we are slate roofers who take great pride in our work and we consider the Stormflex system an extension of traditional slate roof conservation techniques.
