A New Primary Free School For Surbiton from September 2018
Combining the best traditions of the state and independent sectors, we offer:
A commitment to excellence
We believe that the route to delivering an outstanding all-round education for our pupils requires effort and commitment, starting from enabling outstanding teaching, which is our bottom line. We recruit teachers who demonstrate dedication to their pupils, to their own practice and ambition and we then invest heavily in their continued professional development. Our team, has achieved great success at Thomson House School, which was rated as 'outstanding' in all categories by Ofsted from its first inspection.
A strong family ethos
We want our pupils to learn in a place where people know each other well, treat each other with respect, and where nobody falls through the cracks; our school has a warm family atmosphere and it establishes a solid partnership with families. We do this by having an open door policy for parents, regular parent-governor surgeries and our Headteacher welcoming all pupils into school each morning. Parents attend assemblies, help out in class and we will have a vibrant and social Parent Teacher Association central to our school community.
An all-round education
We offer a truly broad curriculum, for we believe in a holistic approach to developing the minds of children. Our curriculum enables us to identify, nourish and celebrate each child’s individual gifts. Right from Reception we offer three hours of sport and two hours of music a week, modern foreign languages, a broad enrichment programme, dedicated philosophy lessons, and the Richmond Award scheme for personal development. We believe in breadth underpinned by rigour.
