WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is a holistic form of healing. The practitioner channels energy into the body by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the body. This helps restore physical and emotional well-being.

The treatment is un-intrusive and very calming. You simply lie down and close your eyes whilst the practitioner glides their hands over different areas of the body, pausing for longer periods of time where more attention feels required.

WHAT WILL I FEEL ?
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. The majority of patients fall into a deep sleep during the treatment, noticing 'heat' in certain areas. As well as this, relaxation, feelings of peace, security and wellbeing can be felt. Many have reported miraculous results.

The natural and safe method of Reiki treats the mind, body and soul.
Each patient is completely individual, and sometimes the positive effects can be absolutely personal to you.

HISTORY OF REIKI:
Dr Mikao Usui, 1865 - 1926, a 19th century scholar and a doctorate of theology. He discovered the technique of Reiki in his hometown of Kyoto, Japan.

Dr Usui claimed that during a near death experience with cholera, he received profound visions of 'Mahavairochana Buddha', who gave him direct instructions.
After questing for ancient Buddhist scriptures, healing techniques & medical texts from Tibet, India & China, he gathered his studies & journied to Mount Kurama to meditate for 21 days in the hope to piece his research together. He awoke with the technique he named 'Rei Ki'.

Word spread fast due to continuous reports of miraculous results, and he soon opened teaching schools in Tokyo. The technique was brought to the West in 1970 by one of Dr Usui's successors, and has now spread to millions of people worldwide.
