The project is designed to enhance both participation in music-making and the achievement of musical excellence. As a community project, it is designed to encourage musicians of varying abilities to gain access to the musical arts, take advantage of the facilities, learn from other musicians, explore creative possibilities and enjoy the experience of participating in musical activity. As an artistic project, it is also concerned to provide high-quality practice and recording facilities. In so doing, it is planned that the facilities should assist local musicians to achieve new standards of musical performance, develop their understanding of recording techniques, assist with the promotion of their work and, in some cases, lay the basis for a more structured musical career.
Although this is a new initiative for Portrush Community Enterprises, it is rooted in the experience of The Sound Hole, Portrush, which has previously provided a rehearsal space for local musicians (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Portrush-Rehearsal-room-The-Sound-Hole/272159649537968). This has been run on a voluntary basis and has worked successfully through the efforts of local musicians

By bringing popular music, and interactive multimedia together, The Sound Hole aims to promote creative collaboration and fusion between young people working across the field of popular culture to support the youth and education sectors to embrace hands-on learning and training in the new digital age.

Our CCTV system is in operation 24/7, and records both rooms, lobby, and the entrance simultaneously. The content is not monitored or viewed and will only be referred to in case of any discrepancy or argument.
