Poulton-le-Fylde College of Education

Teacher Training College - College of Education, flourishing in the 1960's

Part of the University of Lancaster orbit this College was established as a response to the shortage of teachers in the 1960's. It offered both Certificate of Education and Batchelor of Education courses.
I remember it as a friendly place that encouraged the students' social life. With beer at 10p a pint in the shippon many a happy hour was spent setting the world to rights.
