PYCP is Voluntary/community project based in prestonpans. We Aim to deliver 3 core services being streetwork, peer mentoring and a peer education

Prestonpans Youth Community Project is a non-profitable youth organisation who have facilities for youths and kids and now the public to come and socialise. We now have our own building which holds and American style café/diner which is open to the public, we also have a soft play, pool table and air hockey machine for kids of all ages. Every night of the week the PYCP holds clubs for kids and youths, Monday, Wednesday and Friday is over 12s Drop in, on Tuesdays and Thursdays we have out junior nights.

There is 6 trustees that have the responsibility of managing the needs of the project as well have the right to raise issues they feels needs to be answered in coherence to the constitution of the project. The trustee would be in power to recruit advertising for the management committee as well as make policies to safe guard the project. 2 Preston Lodge high School students (S4-S6) would be invited to represent the local young people and the high school to promote a high standard of service to the local community of prestonpans.

Prestonpans Youth Community Project would work at a high standard to ensure that best possible opportunities arise for the young people of the local area. The project wishes to work closely with existing local agencies and services and operate in the streets of prestonpans to create a link and to offer assistance when required.

Volunteers would be inducted to the project and be provided training to do the job and ensure that each volunteer is ready to take on their chosen position within the project. Each Volunteer would continued to be supported by a lead worker there assigned to and would be encouraged to go on external training courses provided by LAYC as well as internal Training provided by the project.

Prestonpans Youth Community Project would invite volunteers to regular staff training so that they get to know each member of staff throughout the program, it also promote team building and a creates a stringer team in the long run.

There is a variety of courses available to the local children and young people to promote the personal development of children/young of all abilities. The course range from youth dynamic award-duke of Edinburgh award. The project would also offer works shops that range from road safety for aged 6-8 to anti bullying for aged 8-16. I wish to use exists workshops/courses as well as workshops/course i have designed myself.
