Situated within the grounds of St Mary's C of E Primary School, we run an inviting, fun, educational playgroup to assist children in preparing for school.
Purton Under 5's Community Playgroup aims to provide a caring and stimulating environment where each child is valued, feels secure and is happy.
• To provide active learning experiences through play investigation and social interaction across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) whilst recognising that each child is unique and has their own individual needs.
• To build each child’s sense of self-esteem and confidence, valuing the role that children’s past experiences, personal attributes and abilities play in achieving this. With the ultimate aim of preparing each child for the transition to school.
• To work in partnership with parents, carers and families recognising their role as first and future educator of their child.
• To provide a service which promotes equality and diversity, aiming for each child and their family is included in all aspects of our setting in a way that they are comfortable with. A community where all members are heard, feel respected and valued.
• For the setting to remain financially sustainable, by maintaining intake levels.
• To equip practitioners with the skills to meet these values and aims.
