We are also currently re-enacting the 8th Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment in World War One with this being the Centenary year for the start of WW1. We are currently running both WW2 and WW1 along side each other and have had great success doing this.
Why are we re-enacting WW1 if we are a WW2 re-enactment group. Firslty it is the Centenary 100 years since the start of WW1 and secondly both main members of Redcar Home Guard had Great Grandfathers in the same Regiment which was the 4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment this was a territorial Regiment. Both main members Grandfathers were also in the Redcar Home Guard together in WW2 so this is another reason why we do what we do.
