Rotarians are simply a bunch of ordinary like minded people, who do great things by working together to help others in the local and wider community.
Our Mother Club is Falkirk and strong links still exist between the Clubs, with a joint meeting held every year.
The Club currently meets in the Leapark Hotel Grangemouth every Thursday at 12:30 for 12:45, with the third Thursday in each month being reserved for a business meeting. The Club previously met in the Grange Manor Hotel and Galloway's Restaurant in the Town.
The Club continues to thrive with the current membership of 42, and has an active programme throughout the year.
Over the years a few members have served in positions at District and National level. John Kenny was District Governor in 1984, RIBI President in 1993 and Rotary International President in 2009-10. Bill Ramage served as District Secretary and Joe Gallacher as District Treasurer.
To commemorate John's year as RI President a water harvesting project was set up. John is a very good ambassador for Rotary and for the Grangemouth Club in particular.
The Club supports many local charities throughout the year. The annual Santa Float collection and the charity Sportsman's Dinner contribute to Strathcarron Hospice and CHAS. This year - 2014, some £25900 was raised from the Sportsman's Dinner
The club has also supported appeals for world disasters through providing Shelter Boxes.
Community activities form a large part of the club work and the local Road Safety Competition in the Primary Schools has been running since 1957.
