Royston Arts Society

Into creating, viewing, sharing, buying or selling art in Royston & Villages SG8? Get in touch!

Formed in 1978 the Royston Arts Society is a thriving group of more than 100 local people, all of whom share the same interest; painting and the visual arts.

All our meetings take place at Market Hill Rooms, at the top of Fish Hill, where we get together twice a month, on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays from 2 – 4pm to paint & socialize. Guests are always welcome to come along and join in. We also maintain a permanent display of member’s paintings in Royston Library. All of the paintings are for sale at very affordable prices and sell on a regular basis.

Professional demonstrations in various media are also held in Market Hill Rooms, on the second Friday evening of each month, from 8 – 10pm. Visitors are always welcome to attend any of these events for a fee of £2 per session. Day work-shops are also occasionally arranged.

An annual open exhibition is staged each year in Royston Town Hall in conjunction with the RoystonArtsFestival.org. Over 90 artists exhibit more than 450 original paintings, all of which are for sale. Members also mount a small Exhibition earlier in the year, which is usually held in a small local gallery.

Members of the society pay a nominal annual fee and for this are entitled to enter the annual exhibition, display work in the library and attend all the practical meetings and demonstrations free of any additional charge.

We are a very friendly group who are always happy to welcome and encourage new members and visitors who wish to develop their painting skills.
