The Petersfield & District Branch of Save the Children is one of the oldest and most successful in Great Britain and our 150+ volunteers mobilise twice a year to help with our 2 major fundraising events. These are ‘The Big Sale’ in April and our Gift Fair in November. Our volunteers help us because not only do we raise vital funds for Save the Children’s work but we also have fun as a group in doing so. In 2012 we raised over £41,000 and have raised over £30,000 annually for the previous 5 years. Other fundraising events are through talks to schools and groups, an annual Christmas concert to include the four Senior Schools in the Petersfield area, children’s shows and dances, bridge events, coffee mornings and auctions. We can provide help and staffing to our supporters who wish to fundraise on our behalf.
Petersfield Gift Fair Save the Children
Gift Fair
We are not stuffy or old fashioned and are always willing to embrace innovative ideas. We welcome new volunteers or any one who has expertise in an area that they could help us with – even if only an hour! The Gift Fair is held up by the Charity Fairs Association as an exemplar to their members and is used as a model by Save the Children too. Some of our long serving (but not older) members have been recognised with medals from Princess Anne and others have attended the Save the Children’s 90th Birthday Party at Buckingham Palace.
