Facebook page for the Eleventh Annual Sedgefield Folk Festival. Taking place in venues in the County Durham town between 2th – 4th September 2016.
From its modest beginning within a single venue in 2006, the festival has gradually expanded to cater for the tastes and interests of folk music enthusiasts and local residents alike.
The Festival operates within Sedgefield Community Association and a specific, dedicated committee of volunteers works hard to organise a full programme of events that brings many visitors into the County Durham town.
One of our main objectives being a small Festival, is to ensure that all visitors have an event to attend, be it concert, singaround, music session, workshop or dance display.
Much media interest has been directed at the World Spoon-Playing Championships which the festival is rightly proud to host again this year.
In recent years the Festival have been headlined by such great artists as Vin Garbutt, Billy Mitchell, Bernard Wrigley, the late John Wright, the Doonan Family Band, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan and the Acoustic Strawbs.
This year sees the Festival continue to go from strength to strength with headliners The Benny Gallagher Trio to look forward to, as well as
Charlie Dore & Julian Littman, Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies, Marie Little, Prelude, Kieran Goss and The Young’uns.
Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you there!
