Guba Doce Pares ‘’Together we stand as one’’
Guba Doce Pares originates form the Philipines and is a form of martial arts called Eskrima. Used in many Hollywood films and stunt co-ordinators, you may be familiar with the moves already. If you are keen to learn a new martial art or want to find out more about Guba Doce Pares, The Sevenoaks Guba Doce Pares School is just the place.
Run by Stuart Tickner, 2012 World Champion (single stick), 2012 London Open Champion (double stick) and 2011 British Champion (double stick) the School was set up in January 2013.
Lessons cover combat and self-defence using the eight topics listed below;
• Solo Olisi (Single Stick)
• Doble Baston (Double Stick)
• Bangkaw ( Staff / Spear)
• Baraw ( (Knife)
• Espada y Daga (Stick & Knife / Sword & Knife)
• Mano Mano ( Filipino Dirty Boxing)
• Sayaw (Warrior Dance)
• Sparring / Competing
Anyone of any age, gender, level and ability is welcome. If you want to learn self defence, then Guba Doce Pares is the martial art for you. If you would like to take it to a level of competition, then Stuart Tickner is the best instructor you could wish for having studied martial arts for 10 years and recently competed in Las Vegas in 2012, where he won the 2012 World Champion (single stick) in the light cruiser weight division.
