For local food & drink producers to sell their goods online each week. Customers collect goods every Wed (5.30pm - 7pm) from 7th Sept. Click & collect!

Shaftesbury Food Assembly will 'Launch' on Wednesday 7th September from 5.30pm - 7pm at The Half Moon Pub, Salisbury Road, Shaftesbury, SP7 8BS, (on the Royal Chase roundabout), and EVERY Wednesday thereafter.

We, Fiona and Maggie, are the Food Assembly hosts and our aim is to support 'local' Food and Drink producers enabling them to have another sales' outlet, whilst bringing them together with our discerning Food and Drink customers.

How It Works.

Each week, our producers have a range of their Food and Drink products available online at Shaftesbury Food Assembly. https://foodassembly.com/en/assemblies/8239

The online market opens every Thursday morning, (from 1st September) and closes at 2am the following Tuesday, so customers have 4 - 5 days to order their shopping. We will email all our customers to announce the opening, (with any special products available that week) and a reminder before it is due to close.

The producers can then print out a list of all the items they have sold, in order to prepare/cook/butcher their orders in time for the Wednesday evening.

They bring along to the Assembly, (at The Half Moon Pub), ONLY the orders that have already been bought and paid for online, so it is not exactly a Farmers' Market.

The customers come and collect their goods and chat to the producers over a drink, if they wish, making it a sociable hour and a half.

This is the producer's answer to 'Click and Collect' and our customers' 'One Stop Food Shop'.

Food Assemblies have been running in France since 2011 and increasing in the UK since 2014. It is a great way for our customers to buy fresh, local produce online each week and then to meet their producers and collect their shopping over a drink.

We will be having a stand at the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show on Wednesday 17th August in order to promote the Shaftesbury Food Assembly and sign up many customers and no doubt increase our producers as well. Do come and see us, we will be near the Food Hall.
