Shortwood United Football Club is an English football club from Nailsworth, Gloucestershire who are members of the Southern League Division One South & West.
The club were members of the Hellenic League between 1982 and 2012 and they were crowned Hellenic Leage champions on two occasions. Prior to joining the Hellenic League, Shortwood had a seven-season spell in the Gloucestershire County League.
They reached the Third Round Qualifying of the FA Cup in the 2007–08 season and the following season finished joint top of the Hellenic Premier Division, but were pipped to promotion on goal difference.
At the end of the 2011–12 season, Shortwood finished as runners up in the Hellenic Premier Division and this was enough for them to earn promotion to the Southern League for the first time in their history.
A 1-0 win over Didcot Town in October 2013 in the FA Cup saw the club make it into the fourth qualifying round of the competition for the first time in their history and they were drawn against Aldershot Town.[1] They went one better by holding Aldershot to a 1-1 draw at home, going on to beat them 2-1 in the away replay. They are due to face Port Vale at home in the First Round Proper.[2][3]
