Why Softwash? Why not just power wash? Power washing takes away the immediate layer, that which is visibly on the surface, however the root or spores of the moss or algae are not dead and quickly return. It is now widely recognised that Power washing damages the substrate and causes pitting in the surface allowing better areas for algae, moss regrowth and other organic growth. In many cases power washing can cause a quicker and more dense regrowth for the for mentioned reasons.

The Softwash approach works differently. We apply HSE approved solutions in a professional manner, these solutions kill the moss to the roots and algae to the core. The solution works in such a way that some results can be seen instantly but most take up to 7 days to start to clear. The solution continues to work long after application and remains active in some cases for up to 2 years although we would recommend a maintenance application on an annual basis to prevent any future colonization.
