We are hoping to open a high quality, Ofsted registered childcare setting in the Hampshire Village of Southwick .
To meet our vision:
We work within the Statutory Framework and Practice Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage
We are responsive to individual children's needs, interests and experiences.
We put children first, always asking ourselves to see things from the childs perspective.
We will build secure attachments and support emotional development through loving relationships and hugs and cuddles. We will meet the needs of babies and children by ensuring parents wishes are followed, the Key person will liaise with parents and develop individual care and development routines taking into account home care.
All children will be encouraged to learn through play and explore through a wide range of sensory experiences.
We will provide a wide and varied range of play experiences to help children to be keen and confident learners.
Key persons will support children and be "tuned into" their needs and interests to make sure these are appropriately met.
All children will be supported to become active, inquisitive and independent learners.
Key persons will work with parents to provide learning opportunities at home as well as in the setting.
We will provide an environment where all children are safe.
We will work in partnership with parents by listening and responding to their views and concerns and respecting them as their child's first educators. We regularly share their child's development, achievements and progress. We achieve this through daily feedback, sharing learning journeys, parent's evenings, breakfast club and inviting parents as 'helpers' or sharing skills or occupations.
We will support parents who are serving away from home in the armed forces to keep involved in their childs experiences at nursery. We do this through photographs and news from nursery.
We will provide support and advice to families and signpost them to other professionals or services that may be able to offer them support.
We will work closely with other professionals and settings to help children make progress and enjoy smooth transitions in and out of the nursery.
Key persons will work with parents to provide and share learning opportunities for home as well as in the setting. This could be through workshops, stay and play sessions or our ‘bags of support’ scheme
We will be active members of the village community, welcoming visitors and joining in with village life
We will have a robust safer recruitment process which will ensure only suitable people will be employed to work in our nursery
We will ensure best practice and a high quality of care at Southwick Village Nursery by continuously evaluating our practice against the Ofsted Early Years Inspection Handbook (2015)
We will hold regular staff team meetings and deliver training and development sessions to support staff in their role.
We will develop individual training plans for staff which will support their qualifications, skills and continuous professional development
