Here at “spinning strawberry” we are not just a gift shop; we are very passionate about the environment and good causes! We believe that every little thing that we can do and that other people can do can make a big difference to our world and the people in it. We want to make the world a happier and safer place, this includes making our planet feel comfortable, which means being passionate about recycling, making sure we don’t throw our recyclable rubbish into land-fill, then making useful products out of the recycled paper, plastic and glass.
It also means using more organic products that do not use harsh chemicals which can harm the environment. Organic products are also kinder on the skin, so it’s a bonus all ways round!!
Charity is also important, we like to help people, animals and the environment in as many ways as we can, we have fair-trade products, which give a fair wage people living in poverty, these people have put a lot of hard work into the product we sell, it’s only fair to give everyone what they deserve! We also have products where the company that supply us gives a percentage of their profits to a specific charity.
We have candles that are made in wales by people that are partially sited and blind, this gives these people a fair wage and a sense of worth in their community, they love doing it, and getting paid to do their hobby is a bonus!
I really want to make a difference to this world, step by step I hope to make a noticeable difference in the way we think about products we buy and the environment. We need to stop thinking so much about “things” and things more about people, it’s only us that can change the way we are and the way the planet is for the next generation.
