Stars are based in Briton Ferry community centre. We rehearse every Wednesday 7pm until 9:30pm and at this present moment in time we have 30 members which are from the ages of 16 and up. The society was formed because we love the musical theatre business, so wanted to pursue our dream of opening our own musical theatre company. So far the society has performed a Musical Theatre evening concert “ One Night Only” at Neath’s newly refurbished Gwyn hall September. Our first production was a great Stephen Sondheim classic “Into the Woods” at the Gwyn Hall. June 2013, which we won Noda best tech award for. And was nominated for Best production and the witch for best actress. The Production was under the artistic direction of Anthony Argyle who has many years of experience of Directing many societies and shows such as Beauty and the Beast, crazy for you, Evita and many more. Ashley Wilkes our Musical Director has also had many years of experience and also teaches a children’s musical theatre society (Cwm musical youth) based in Clydach who have performed many shows such as Oliver, The Wizard of Oz, Annie, Seussical and many more, our second annual concert was At the Gwyn Hall, Neath (The Magic Of The Musicals) on Friday 25th October 2013. Our second production was the outstanding CHESS the musical at The Gwyn Hall, Neath July 2014 which we got a noda nomination for Best tech. our 3rd annual concert at the Gwyn hall 24th October 2014 was ( the magic of Broadway and West end) our 2015 production was the spectacular RENT the musical which was performed in June 2015 which was under the great direction of Michael Aubin for our 4th annual concert we performed ( The movies and the musicals)at the Gwyn hall October 2015.We are currently in the middle of rehearsing out 4th show which is the fantastic Oklahoma! Which was Directed by our founder Simon Dunsford and was at the Gwyn hall June 2016. We also have our 5th annual concert spectacular planned at the Gwyn hall for Friday 21st October 2016 which is already selling fast. Our 2017 production is going to be the fantastic Titanic and auditions are to be held in October 30th 2016.Stars Musical theatre Company hope be going for many years and hope to give all our members and audiences great experiences whilst with us and putting on many shows.

At Stars we pride ourselves on making sure that our shows are at professional standard, we also like to take on challenging shows as ourselves and our members feel it brings us closer together as a family at Stars
