We are a small Model Railway club established in 1962. Based in North Hertfordshire, local to Stevenage and surrounding communities, we meet three times a week - Monday Evenings, and Wednesday/Thursday Mornings.
We are an established Model Railway Club in North Hertfordshire, a short distance from the towns of Stevenage and Knebworth.
Currently, we have three difference gauged layouts within our club. All of which are DC and DCC compatible.
O Gauge.
A large 4-track O gauge permanent layout which runs around the edge of our club building, with many sidings, stations, and some areas under construction and development.
OO Gauge - Coleware
Coleware is a portable exhibition layout that is permanently set up at our club unless out at exhibitions. The layout has two complete circuits, an extensive fiddleyard, sidings, a station, engine shed, and a branch line. Currently in the process of being developed and scenery planned.
N Gauge.
Reasonably new to the club, we have a portable N gauge layout with two complete circuits, sidings, marshalling yard, and station. This layout is currently a work in progress, but is electronically operational.
As well as our layouts, which we always encourage new and prospecting members to try out, we also arrange club social evenings and summer trips, send out frequent newsletters, welcome modellers and enthusiasts from all ages and backgrounds, and generally aim to enjoy ourselves.
Between members, we have a great range of skills and experiences, so if you're new to model rail, or want some advise, we can help you out!
We met three times a week. One being a Monday evening, and the others being Wednesday/Thursday mornings. If you are interested, please drop us a message here, or send an email to sand_mrc@outlook.com and we'll get back to you with details of where to find us and when.
Feel free to visit us and we accept any prospecting members to join us. Alternatively if you're not local, simply like our page to follow our progress. We greatly look forward to hearing from you!
