Volunteer with St John Ambulance
St John Ambulance (NI) is a registered charity committed to providing first aid and care to the sick and injured. We are also Northern Ireland’s leading First Aid training provider. We are registered with the HSENI to provide First Aid at Work courses and also provide courses suitable for members of the public.
For those working or otherwise involved with babies and children, including parents and grandparents, we have courses specifically designed for this age group. We are able to tailor a course to suit your specific requirements.
We also run courses in AED (Defibrillator) Operator, Moving and Handling and Fire Marshal training.
We regularly run courses in Belfast, Ballymena, Coleraine, Enniskillen, Londonderry, Newry, Omagh and Portadown. If you have your own venue we can come to you. Our prices are highly competitive.
About St John Ambulance
We believe that it’s absolutely unacceptable that so many people die needlessly – because no one could give them first aid when they needed it.
St John Ambulance teaches people first aid – about 800,000 last year alone – so that they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
•We teach young people in schools and through our activities for young people
•We teach people in the workplace and provide first aid products
•We teach people in the community
And we teach people who become our volunteers; who offer their skills and time to be the difference right in the heart of their community – at public events, as first responders or providing back up to local ambulance services.
As a charity, we’re committed to making sure more people can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. To do that, we need your help.
What we do
St John Ambulance teaches people first aid – about 800,000 last year alone – so that they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
Thousands of the people we trained went on to offer their skills and time to be the difference right in the heart of their community, as St John Ambulance volunteers.
To provide first aid at public events, to be Community First Responders who attend emergency calls and provide care until the ambulance arrives, to provide patient transport, or as back up to local ambulance services during local major emergencies.
We have special first aid programmes for schools and activities for young people.
Support us
Together, we can reduce the number of people who die unnecessarily. We need your help to teach more people first aid and to keep making the difference between a life lost and a life saved. Please support our charitable work.
There are many ways in which you can help us raise money. Come to one of our fundraising events or organise your own. Support us by running a marathon – and we’ll support you all the way. Or how about a quiz night, or a wine tasting?
St John Ambulance (Northern Ireland) covers all of Northern Ireland. If you don’t live in any of these areas, find out about volunteering opportunities near you.
