St Mary Devizes Trust aims to transform the historic Church of St Mary the Virgin, Devizes, into a vibrant, multi-use space for the community

dates from the Norman times and is one of the most important buildings in the town, with the church tower a particular landmark. The building is listed Grade I, putting it amongst the top 2.5% of listed buildings in the country.

There are exciting plans in progress to turn it into a Arts, Music and Community event space, with a refurbished interior and modern facilities housed in a new-build. Despite planning setbacks, we are continuing planning negotiations regarding the future of the building and we put on a great range of events thoughout the yea

On completion, the St Mary Devizes venue will:

Balance Heritage and Innovation - enhancing the look and feel of this wonderful Grade 1 Listed building using imagination and creativity to provide a stimulating and comfortable environment.

Encourage Arts and Culture - offering an historic setting with state-of-the-art facilities for holding a wide variety of events, concerts, exhibitions and celebrations.

Be Socially Responsible - creating a unique, flexible venue to benefit the entire community, while expanding Devizes’ reputation as a place of choice to hold all types of events.

Hold the Tradition - To remain a consecrated building allowing marriages, christenings, funerals and services
