Sycamores Children's Centre provides services for all families with children under 5 years old and expectant parents living in the Knottingley & Ferrybridge area. We also have an on-site 0-3 daycare service (please ask for prices) with spaces available.

We run groups at set times, such as Stay & Play, Young Ones, Baby Massage and more but you can drop in to access our other services which include Sensory Room, Job Centre appointments, Health Trainers, midwife drop-in, low cost safety equipment, Little Angels breastfeeding support, telephone and computer access plus lots of other help and advice. We hold a partnership meeting so the centre is always being challenged by other professionals and we have a Parents Forum so that your needs are met as this is where new ideas and initiatives are discussed between service users and the centre.

We are funded by Wakefield Council but have links with lots of other professionals in the community such as PCT, Health, WDH, community groups and organisations all working to improve lives for children and their families. We have a staff team comprising a Centre Manager, Administrator, 2 Parent Support workers, a Family Play and Learning Worker and also a Children's Centre Teacher. We also work with a community midwife, Community Food and Health Worker, Job Centre Plus Advisor, CAMHS worker and have a Little Angels Peer Support Worker. We hold a sexual health and contraception clinic and have a support group for parents/carers of children with additional needs. We have a Speech and Language Therapist available.
