We carry out pioneering scientific research into psychoactive drugs and consciousness, and promote evidence-based, health-oriented drug policy reform.
The Beckley Foundation was set up by Amanda Feilding in 1998, with two main purposes:
1) To explore scientifically the neurophysiological changes underlying changing states of consciousness, in order to learn more about brain function, consciousness and also investigate novel therapeutic options.
2) To improve global drug policy by promoting evidence-based, health-oriented, harm-reducing, cost-effective policies which respect human rights.
We are now a leading international drug policy think-tank, and have produced many influential academic publications on both policy and science, which are disseminated worldwide.
