The Combat Academy Mixed Martial Arts Centre is a fully equipped fight sport & fitness gym offering classes in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, Gracie Ju – Jitsu, and Strength & Conditioning . The centre features a brand new 18ft boxing ring, grappling area with cage wall and wall mats and 40ml tatami ground mats suitable for all types of stand up and ground based martial arts. We also have an excellent strength & conditioning area which features some of the best training equipment available such as Bulgarian Bags, Kettlebells, Battling Ropes, HIRTS Ropes, Monkey Bars, Plyometric Boxes, Russian Clubs, Olympic Barbell set, Squat Rack and much much more.

The Combat Academy is run by chief instructor Mick Crossland.

Mick Crossland is the reigning ICO World Supermiddleweightl kickboxing Champion and has over 20 years experience training in various martial arts including Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai & Karate. Mick has competed at the highest level as a kickboxer all across the world. His accomplishments include;

Multiple Yorkshire, English, British, European & International Amateur Titles

In addition to his ring accomplishments Mick is a coach to the ICO Team England squad and is well established within the martial arts world so has access to good opportunities for learning, development and success for fighters at all levels.

Darryl Westcott is the Combat Academies Head MMA Coach. Darryl is a successful MMA competitor in his own right and in addition to serving his apprenticeship as a Mixed Martial Arts coach and competitor under years of tutelage from the World renowned MMA fighter Wayne "Wanna" Murray he also has a blackbelt in Freestyle Karate under former WKA World Middleweight Champion Arthur O'Loughlyn.

Both trainers have a genuine passion for the arts they teach and work diligently to ensure that the academy offers a fun, friendly, welcoming & supportive environment & that every member regardless of experience or ability is able to make the most out of any time spent training at the academy.
