After having recent articles in the national newspapers, The Sun, The Daily Mirror, The Daily Mail, The Bolton News, The Metro and Leeds & Bradford Post, plus John being interviewed on BBC Manchester’s, Alan Beswick Breakfast Show, John Mcloughlin, thought it to be prudent to tell the local public just what is happening at his salon, The Cutting Edge.

Established since 1989 The Cutting Edge hair salon in Egerton, has provided a local hairdressing service for just over twenty years. A lot has changed through those years, but the aim to deliver a quality service has always been at the forefront of our commitment to our clients.

Hair colouring has grown in its popularity and now most clients have some form of colour applied to their hair, the methods used has also changed. We keep up to date with the help of our main supplier Wella, John using this popular ranged since he began hairdressing, his knowledge of hair colouring and the Wella products is vast.

The other investment we have made is in the quality of our training. John, also know as “The Hairdressing Tutor”, has a website dedicated to training hairdresser’s from all over the world, the www.hairdressingtutor.co.uk web site has different packages to help train want-to-be or up-and-coming, budding hairdressers. There are not many other salons that can boast of such a wealth of knowledge and talent. Salon owner and qualified Tutor, John has lectured at Bolton and Blackburn College’s, and holds qualifications of a Cert. Ed and BA in Ed., but his first love is working as a hairdressing stylist. Hair cutting and hair colouring being his main expertise, having worked with Wella’s hair colouring product for over 30 years, John has seen and done everything in hair cutting and colouring.

Karen, who has worked at The Cutting Edge for eight years, holds qualifications of NVQ in Hairdressing at levels I, II & III, plus a Barbering NVQ. Karen’s main attributes are her colouring expertise and hair up work. Karen has attended Patrick Cameron Workshops and courses, Karen regularly works with clients for their Prom Date or Wedding.

Rachel is the newest member of staff and is quickly working her way through NVQ qualifications in hairdressing at levels I & II. Rachel is a pleasant contentious worker, who will do her best to make sure your stay with us is a pleasurable experience. Rachel will be cutting hair at reduced rates on a Wednesday, please phone for appointments and prices.

It has never been our goal to shout from the hilltops, but every twenty years or so it is nice to remind people of your talents and expertise.
