The Holt is a cosy, self-contained annexe to the owner's home. Comfortable and well equipped, it sleeps two, plus child or baby, pets welcome.
Accommodation comprises: Downstairs lounge/diner with separate kitchen and upstairs double bedroom with ensuite bath/shower and WC. TV, DVD/CD player,washing machine, fridge/freezer. Elec. central heating with supplementary heaters. Books, local information and maps are provided. A summer house with tumble dryer and a supply of books and magazines is a few steps away from the rear door..
The Holt has views of the Skye Hills across Glenelg Bay and is a short walk from the village (Inn and shop) and the shore. There is a sandy beach 10 minutes away and scenic drives to Sandaig (Gavin Maxwell's Ring of Bright Water) Loch Hourn and the Iron Age Dwellings known as Brochs, situated in the adjacent glen, Glen Bheag. Ruined Jacobean barracks are situated between The Holt and the village. As well as being renowned for its scenic beauty with lochs, glens and mountains rising from the sea, the area also has an abundance of wildlife. Golden eagles, white tailed eagles (aka sea eagles), pine martens, dolphins, whales, basking sharks and otters can all be seen.
