The Lifeboat House at Johnshaven Harbour is a dynamic arts and heritage venue managed by the Benholm and Johnshaven Heritage Society.
The Lifeboat House in Johnshaven dates from 1891 and was gifted to the Benholm and Johnshaven Heritage Society in the 1990s.
The heritage society has converted this building into a dynamic arts and heritage venue available for use by a wide variety of groups for exhibitions, performances, workshops and educational activities.
It is an important building on the harbour front and is now an attractive feature contributing to work to regenerate the area.
The Society has acquired, over a number of years, a collection of objects and photographs that we intend to make available digitally, and as part of a rotating exhibitions programme, to all local people and visitors.
The venue is open on a seasonal basis and by appointment for events and functions outwith core opening hours.
