Fish & Chips at it's Best

We first saw T Lights in October 2012 and the seed of our project was planted. As soon as we saw it we knew we had to buy it, why we will never know? Bob had spent most of his working life as a ceiling fixer, but has a keen interest in cooking and owning a fish & chip shop was in his ' bucket list' .Diane, although having a fair bit of experience in the catering trade, had worked for the Ambulance Service for the past 20 years. Twelve months later it was ours and at times, we questioned why we had followed our hearts. A very steep learning curve followed with many mistakes on the way, Each day brought new challenges but at no time did we regret our decision.
January 2014 and it was time for the building work to begin. Needless to say, once we started the renovations, it very quickly became apparent that the work was more extensive than first thought. However Jon and Bob worked throughout horrendous weather conditions to complete the majority of the work within a month, unfortunately, not helped by the lorry that ploughed into the scaffold.
We officially became 'The Little Plaice' on 27th February 2014 and although our living accommodation still leaves a lot to be desired, we feel as though we have achieved our ambition.
To date, running the shop is becoming easier, especially now we have Jo on board, and Diane ( a keen gardener) has flowers in her garden again.
We hope we are fulfilling our aim - giving locals and visitors good quality food at a reasonable price and we would also like to take this opportunity to thank the people of St Blazey for welcoming us into their community.
