The village of Asthall is wreathed in rural charm and features the beautiful and ancient church of St Nicholas’ (1160) set next to the elegant Manor house, the original home of the famous Mitford sisters, which regularly hosts popular public events.
The river Windrush meanders gently through the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside a stone’s throw from The Maytime Inn, which dates back to the 17th Century and in times gone by was a coaching inn with its own Smithy. – Today we proudly continue its long tradition of hospitality, albeit with fewer horses and the most stylish of modern conveniences.
Refurbished in 2012, The Maytime is a freehouse with six beautifully appointed bedrooms with luxurious fittings and an elegantly rustic restaurant.
Everything is designed to make your visit more enjoyable, from the luxurious beds to our contemporary yet rustic bar and restaurant areas and our team of local staff is on hand to ensure that your stay with us is a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
We offer a wide selection of fine wines by the glass, regularly changing local ales and ciders and have just launched a new range of craft beers and an extensive Gin and Tonic menu!
