Just refurbished the Old Stables at The Brow is a very spacious stone built 2 bedroom (1 twin, 1 kingsize) property that is both in the countryside with walks and cycling from the door yet just over 15mins drive from Newcastle town centre, with good public transport links too both this city and also Hexham and other popular locations within the Tyne Valley (details below).
Accommodation upstairs comprises two bedrooms, a new bathroom with separate shower and bath, a new open plan kitchen, lounge & dining area. The lounge includes a sofa bed which can accommodate an extra guest on request.
Downstairs is an entrance area with cupboards and a new washing machine, separate dryer and large area suitable for storage of bikes or other large items.
This upstairs apartment can cater for all ages. Parking is in the courtyard between the old stables and the owners main house. The location lends itself to both weekend breaks and longer stays with many attractions located nearby. We are equally flexible for longer stays such as between house moves.
Located conveniently just off the A69 in the small village of Wylam (famous for its railway heritage, fishing and cycling) you are 2 minutes walk from local shops, chemist, post office, excellent pubs and a café. A bus stop is just outside the drive and the train station is a 10 minute walk providing links to Newcastle (20mins) and the Metrocentre (10mins) or historic Hexham and Corbridge.
The bike track along Tyne is immediately accessible. A children's park is 5 minutes walk a way. The river, with many beautiful walks and fishing, is a few minutes walk.Nearby attractions include: George Stephenson's cottage (short walk), Cherryburn, Prudhoe Castle, Close House Golf course. Similarly for others enjoyment we can only allow pets by agreement if they can stay out of the carpeted areas, bedrooms and off furnishings. Travel cot available on request
