We are Barney & Lizzie Vaughan-Knight
We're both ex-students from Oxford Brookes University who share a love of group travel and creating crazy adventures. Barney started running trips almost 20 years ago when he took over from his mum who was running them herself long before he came along. She used old bedford buses and took them across Europe and the middle East to India and Nepal on the famous hippy trail of the 1960s. In the early 1990s Barney began by taking a few students in ex school buses around Morocco and Eastern Europe. Now, many years later we're taking... hmmm... lots of students in ex school buses around Morocco and Eastern Europe. Hey, if it's not broken why fix it? ;)
Lizzie was a passenger on a Maroc N Roll trip back in 2010. A fully qualified nurse with a passion for travel and photography, she fell in love with the trips and wanted to create one of her own. Barney likes to think she fell in love with him too but it was just the travelling lifestyle really! ;) Together they mapped out the legendary Balkan Jam around the more obscure parts of Eastern Europe. They picked one of these obscure areas to get married in back in 2013 and now with a little addition to the family they continue to create and run trips around Morocco, Eastern Europe, West Africa and sometimes as far afield as Russia & Mongolia.
So that's our story. Every year we try and create a slightly different trip to keep people coming back for new experiences and open up new adventures to the travel loving population. Whilst also keeping the firm favourites like the Maroc N Roll and Balkan Jam running every year.

Although you'll be travelling with 20-25 other like minded travellers, our trips are pretty informal and we don't like to keep our itineraries too rigid. So whilst we know where'll we be staying each night - usually ;) - whether it be a hotel with swimming pool on the edge of the desert, a log cabin in the mountains or sleeping bag in the forest surrounded by monkeys - once you get there you can do as you please. There's usually some kind of activity on offer like rafting, horse riding, canoeing or camel trekking but when there's not you can just head out and explore the town, mountains, forests, desert or caves we happen to be in!
There's plenty of time for socialising as well of course. In fact the whoe trip is one huge social gathering. We just move it around from one fascinating place to another to make sure you don't get bored with each other. So if you want to make freinds for life while seeing some of the more out of the way parts of Europe and North Africa then get on board and join in the fun.. and come with us if you want to live!
