Authentic Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi cuisine.
The Passage to India restaurant opened in 1985 with the aim of bringing real Indian cuisine to Gloucestershire for the first time. Hence, it was always going to be the cuisine first and foremost with which we wanted to make our mark.
Over the years our reputation has grown, and so has the restaurant, from a 48 cover restaurant to a lavish 100 cover restaurant. Diners include celebrities and royals as well as those who are not so royal, The Passage to India has become a popular destination for all, young and old.
However, every love affair needs an occasional change, endearing new excitement. This is why the head chef is always in search of new recipes and authentic spices. Our belief is that real, tasty Indian cuisine can only be found in the villages, within the farming communities where the recipe is passed from mother to daughter.
Over the years our skills have grown and the Passage to India has become even better. Our aim... is to be better still.
