Thornbury Volunteer Centre provides friendly information and advice on volunteering for residents of Thornbury and the surrounding area.
The Centre was set up in 1988 by a group of local people who recognised
a need in Thornbury and its surrounds for a group which could hold all the
information about all the other organisations. By 1993 we had outgrown
our current premises at the Thornbury Methodist Church and we moved to
the newly renovated Town Hall in Thornbury, where we remain to this day.
Thornbury Town Council give us a grant each year to cover rent, heating
and lighting and we are funded by South Gloucestershire Council.
We are a member of Volunteering England, which is the national umbrella
organisation for Volunteer Centres and we have achieved their Quality
Standards.
Our office is open Monday-Friday, 10:30-12:00.
Thornbury Volunteer Centre is a Registered Charity (no. 1004285).
