Hello, my name is Samantha Potts and I would like to welcome you to Thyme Cottage Childcare. I live at Thyme Cottage with my son, just outside the beautiful village of Brewood and surrounded by wonderful countryside. I have lived here for almost four years and have never felt more at home.

I have worked with children in many different roles over the last 16 years; as a nursery assistant, family support worker, yoga instructor, teaching assistant and primary school teacher. I have experience with children from 3 months up to 17 years and, of course, with my own son from his birth - he is now 2 1/2 years old.

I have always found my work with children incredibly rewarding and worked very hard to eventually become a teacher after completing my B Ed in Primary Education in 2011. Unfortunately, I felt when I had my son that the time demands of teaching were far too high to enable me to parent the way I wanted to and so I turned to childminding as a means of finding the correct work/life balance whilst continuing to use the skills I gained as a teacher and doing the work that I love, supporting children as they grow and develop.

I have chosen a career that enables me to stay at home with my son and I understand what an emotional roller coaster it can be making the decision to go to work and finding the right person to look after the most important little people in your life. My background gives me a firm understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and I will be able to help your children to learn, develop and grow into happy confident young people in a safe and caring environment.

Playspace - large living room with one end dedicated to play and the other for relaxation and quieter time.

Space available for children to sleep along with travel cots.

High chairs and booster seats available along with a small child sized table and chairs for meals and crafts.

Outdoor area extends off the playspace and is currently being extended and developed.

All food home cooked and nutritionally balanced.
