Tissington is a beautifully unspoilt village in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The village lies just off the A515 Buxton Road, 4 miles north of Ashbourne.
The village clusters around the stunning Tissington Hall an early 17th Jacobean Mansion which is home to Sir Richard Fitzherbert and his family.
Tissington village dates back to the Doomsday book of 1086 where it is mentioned as Tizinctun. There was probably settlement long before this date.
