Totton Octopush Club - Underwater Hockey - 02380 896587 (ask for Simon or Tony)

Totton Octopush Club (TOC for short) is one of many underwater hockey clubs around the country... and around the world. Based in Totton, near Southampton in Hampshire, we are a very active, friendly club and are always looking for new members.

If you can swim – you can play.

Octopush is also known as Underwater Hockey, due to its similarity to ice hockey.
The official description (taken from the CMAS Referees Rule Book) is :
"... a sport played on the bottom of a swimming pool by two teams of six players, each wearing basic snorkelling equipment ie fins, mask and snorkel.
The object of the match is to push or pass a lead puck along the bottom of the pool into the opposing team's goal by using an underwater hockey stick."

The Kit
All you need to do is turn up, preferably with some sort of swimming attire(!) and we can lend you the rest for the session.
• Swimsuit/trunks - you provide these!
• Pair of flippers/fins
• Mask
• Snorkel
• Pusher (think of a short hockey stick)
Sound mad?
It is!
It's also very addictive, so come on and give it a try!

Octopush is a fun sport for anyone who enjoys the water. If you enjoy a team sport and are fed up with endless lengths trying to keep fit, then this could be the sport for you!

Our members range from teenagers to retirees with a good mix of fitness levels. As with a lot of team games, reading the game often matters more than how fast you are or how much stamina you have.

We play every Sunday evening from 20:00 to 21:00.

This is usually followed by a visit to our local pub – no game
would be complete without an over-a-pint discussion about
those amazing goals!
