THS is a local charity dedicated to preserving native wild seed, open pollinated veg, agricultural and industrial crop seed from the island of Ireland.
THS is a local environmental charity dedicated to preserving native and naturalised open pollinated wildflowers through their seeds, as well as holding open pollinated food seeds; all from the whole island of Ireland.
We are currently making collections of wildflower seeds to hold in our gene bank. The collections consists of 5 parts and are undertaken so that no more than 20% of the seed available on the day are removed from the wild. The seeds are preserved in deep cold, but can be requested by suitable organisations for restoration projects.
We are embarking on developing a production unit which will be a working area for staff, volunteers and groups to join in and learn the ancient art of seed growing and saving.
We are a charity run completely from donations.
