The Uckfield Theatre Guild is an amateur dramatics group in East Sussex, and has been performing musicals every year since 1995. The Guild originally started as a gathering of like-minded individuals who wanted to share their love of music and drama, and ultimately enjoy the opportunity to put on their own shows. All of this has culminated into what the Guild is today, still with the same enthusiasm, commitment, but most importantly fun, as when it first started.
The aim of the Uckfield Theatre Guild is simple; to provide a society where everyone can participate in and enjoy amateur dramatics. That is not to say that we do not take our performances seriously, all of our members have to commit and work hard to ensure that each of our 4 performance nights entertain our paying audiences, the money from which covers our costs with a sizeable portion being donated to charity.
We are a proud member of NODA (http://www.noda.org.uk/) and are thankful to the local businesses we have forged a partnership with, such as Uckfield FM and Gale & Woolgar.
We are always in need of new members, regardless of experience, and would welcome any newcomers with open arms (we are a very friendly and chatty bunch of people)! If the thought of standing on stage is too terrifying then we are also in need of other roles; help backstage, set construction, musicians, to name but a few. Or if you would like to support the Guild financially (and reap the benefits of doing so) then why not consider becoming a Patron? Information for all of the above will be posted here soon, so keep an eye out in the near future!
