Warrington Animal Welfare was founded to provide financial support for pet owners on low income or benefits to help them to pay to have their pets neutered, in a bid to reduce the amount of stray, abandoned and unwanted pets in Warrington.
Warrington Animal Welfare is a registered charity which was originally founded in 1983 by Joan Rimmer B.E.M. and the late June Jackson.
Warrington Animal Welfare is a non profit making animal welfare charity based in Warrington. Our main objective is to assist with the cost of animal neutering for owners on a low income within the Warrington, Widnes & Runcorn catchment areas.
Warrington Animal Welfare receives no government funding; we are entirely reliant upon fundraising and donations.
These funds help us to pay for veterinary treatment, provide food for the animals currently living in our foster homes and help us to continue to reduce the number of stray and abandoned animals in and around the Warrington area, via our Responsible Pet Ownership campaigns. We encourage people to Neuter and Microchip their pets and where necessary provide assistance with the cost of these procedures for owners who are on benefits or low income.
Although, the organising and running of Neutering campaigns in Warrington and surrounding areas is our main focus, as a caring organisation WAW has also become involved in finding new homes for abandoned and unwanted animals.
They often come to us needing veterinary treatment which means, our small band of volunteers are constantly organising and running fundraising events to pay for this treatment.
